Deb Couvillon
started her multi-instrumental career early.
Banging on the piano as an infant she was already
leaning toward her two favorite instruments in her
development as a musician piano and percussion.

She started taking piano lessons at six and learned how
to play boogie woogie at eight with her older brother.
Started playing trumpet in Jr High. Taught herself to play
baritone,French horn, and bassoon and bugle in high
school. She did piano and organ accompaniment for
church and school choir. Playing percussion for jazz
band.
Sort of like playing with the good girls and the bad boys
at the same time .

During the Beetles years,she got her first guitar. Some
of her inspirations during these years were the
Ventures, Beatles,Iron butterfly.(Inagadda da Vida) land
of a thousand dances, wipeout and others percussion
based music. After beating a pillow with drumsticks for
awhile, she got her first drum set in high school.

She carried her love of percussion and piano into her
college years, where she majored in Music Education at
Sam Houston State. Percussion was her principal
instrument, and piano her second. While attending
collage she played in one of the jazz bands.

Her desire to compose and arrange her own music,
developed while attending Sam Houston.
This girl can do it all.

Deb started building her home recording studio in 1988
and has been adding to it and her recording knowledge
ever since. In 1998 she went into hock to realize her
dream of owning a Boisendorfer Concert Grand Piano.
